October 27, 2017

NVidia recently announced that it will collaborate with Taiwan's high-tech authority MoST (Ministry of Science and Technology) to build an AI-based Supercomputing Platform to help Taiwan's industry connect to the global AI market while fostering the domestic AI ecosystem, the Economic Daily News reported on October 27. According to the agreement, the supercomputer will be powered by NVidia's AI computing platforms and Volta architecture-based GPUs (Graphic Processing Units). In addition, MoST and NVidia's Deep Learning Institute will train 3,000 developers with expertise in deep learning for smart manufacturing, the IoT (Internet of Things), smart city, and smart healthcare sectors over the next four years. MoST is also set to build a "Youth Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base" for local AI startups, leveraging NVidia's inception program which provide hardware grants, marketing support, and access to NVidia's deep-learning ecosystem.
